Tips To Growing Out Longer & Faster & Maintain The Health Of The Hair.

Lets be honest: Almost every girl has dreamed about having past the shoulders Barbie length hair. Here's how to tap the Rapunzel in you:

Cut your hair.
The secret to long hair is strong hair. And that means getting rid of all the damaged ends.  So believe it or not the first step to healthy hair is to suck it up and head into the salon for a good trim. To maintain those clean ends be sure to get regular trims every 6-8 weeks from here on.
Eat right.
You know that expression "You are what you Eat." Well, it's true! Hair can only be long and healthy if you eat a well balanced diet.  Foods rich in vitamin A,B,C, iron and protein are essential for truly healthy hair.
It's also helpful to take Biotin.  Biotin is a mineral converted from vitamin B.  It helps covert food into energy and will promote hair growth.  You can pick a bottle up for around $7 at any grocery store or health food store.
Give yourself a head rush.
Kick your follicles and hair growth into gear by increasing blood circulation to your head.  Massage your head daily, using your finger tips. (Even better if someone else will.) You can do this while washing your hair in the shower or even if you are just watching TV.
Hair growth blockers:
Excessive stress, lack of sleep and certain medications slow the growth process of hair.  So chill out and get some shut eye!
Please be kind to your hair.
The longer the length, the older the hair is.  Treat is like super fine lace.  When you lather up, use gentle moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.  Always use a leave in conditioner on wet hair and use a wide tooth comb to detangle. When combing hair out remember to start at the ends and work your way up to the root.  Treat your locks to a deep conditioner at least once a week.  I recommend sleeping with one in over night and rinsing it out in the morning.  Lay off on the blow dryer, hot curlers and flat iron.  If you must use one be sure to style the hair with a thermal protectant.
Throwing your hair up to disguise growing out layers?
Be extremely careful with what kind of hair tie you use.  Avoid anything that has a sharp or rough edges such as plastic combs, rubber or plastic hair bands and hair claws with metal hinges.  Also be careful not to pull the hair to tight.  Yikes! I can't tell you how many times I've seen mechanical damage in the hair from being to rough on your ponytails.
